Buy a hard drive, get a bonus virus!

Buy a cheap hard drive, get a free virus - ALDI pulls infected '4-in-1' from shelves

ALDI external hard drives available for sale as part of its "special buys" purchases have been found to contain a computer virus.
The Fission External 4-in-1 hard drive, DVD, USB and card reader device was withdrawn from sale this morning.
The hard drive is supplied to ALDI by a company called Smart IT Australia, described on its website as a global company which sells electronics products to 10 countries.
The company also supplies support for ALDI electronics products branded under the Tevion label.
ALDI is recommending consumers who have already purchased the hard drive and connected it to their personal computers to use Kaspersky antivirus software or similar to scan computers and USB storage devices to detect and remove the virus if present.
ALDI has also told customers that free antivirus checkers can be downloaded at free.avg.com.
"A full re-format will remove the virus from the 4-in-1 Hard Drive," a statement from ALDI advises.
"Customers who have purchased the product can return it to the store where they bought it to receive a full refund."

What do you think about this. Should people be able to sue them?

Fake Apple store?

Hey all.

So I was just checking the news and I was reading about a fake Apple store in Chine getting shutdown for not having a busienss licence and that they were using the Apple trademark without their permission. It doesn't supprise me that this has happned in China where most counterfeit market.
I feel sorry for the people who were sucked in to buying theis fake products. Do you think that the owner of this "Apple Store" should have to pay back the money that he has made from selling the fake prodcuts?

The investigation into the fake stores was launched after an American blogger posted photos of a near-flawless copy of an Apple outlet showing employees wearing the company's trademark blue T-shirts

Time travel impossible?!?

Hey all.
So im reading on news.com.au under technology that some Hong Kong physicists say that they have proven that a single photon obeys Einstein's theory and that nothing can travel faster then the speed of light. Limited edition XBox 360 pictures were released not so long ago... Tell me what you think about it.

Here is the picture

So tell me XBox/starwars fans, what do you think about this design? Will you be buying it? I won't be, thats for sure. I think it is ugly and that Microsoft should just stick to the original design.
"It seems the Australian goverment has raised the price for the NBN rollout... What a supprise.. I wouldn't be supprised if it would cost around $80 for a connection fee!
A basic $60 plan for speeds only a fraction of the broadband's capacity will see customers of Internode get just over half the internet capacity per month the Federal Government had modelled for $53-$58."

Mac OS X Lion

Hey all.

So I just downloaded Mac OS X Lion from the AppStore... Thanks Apple for the 3.76GB download to add onto my bandwidth... Anyway.. It was a well spent $32 or something like that.. What I don't fully understand is why Australians always have to pay extra for almost everything :( I understand that they need to pay off their servers for the amount of bandwidth they would be pumping out but they should make everyone pay the exact same amount.

So I woke up this morning and saw on Facebook that Amy Winehouse had died... Bit of a shock some would say, some people would say that they would expect her to die so young. We are still unsure on how she passed away but some a fairly sure it would of been a OD of some type of drug.

On my side project, I am trying to start up a home network with a DC, I am doing this all within virtual machines as my beast main PC is able to handle it. I am currently trying to set up Group Policy but I am having some problems editing them.. Looks like I need to do some google/youtube searching!

Anyway, I think I'm done for todays blog. Have to work tomorrow.. Yay...

Til next blog.... Goodbye
